We know that Google likes to have fun on April Fools Day, and this year, they are really having a lot of fun. We’ve seen the Gmail Shelfie, the Pokemon Maps and various other jokes from Google. Now the Google Fiber team is joining in on the fun with Coffee-To-The-Home or CTTH for short. For those in provo, you get hot chocolate instead. For a few of our Android Headlines team members, they love this feature. If you live in one of the few markets that has Google Fiber or is getting Google Fiber, you are one lucky…

The program was announced today and aims to bring you hot beverages to your home using Google’s new “hot beverage backbone” (HBB). Google states  that what inspired them to invent Coffee-to-the-home, was that they found out that many of their subscribers were enjoying hot cups of coffee while watching the news, reading, email, etc., and with a lot of people working from home these days it makes a lot of sense. So Google consulted “java junkies, renowned roasters, and cupping connoisseurs”. Google also stated that it works in parallel with fiber optic lines and will be available to all subscribers soon.

While we all want gigabit internet, coffee on demand is a pretty good idea too. And I know a few people who would love having Coffee-to-the-Home. As far as April Fools Jokes go, this one is a little lame, but then again Google may be on to something with this. It’d be a really great idea, but I’m not sure how it’d get more people looking at their ads, which is where all their real money comes from. However, I have to say this makes Google Fiber the best ISP out there, as long as they expand to other cities quickly. I’d love to get Google Fiber over here.
