It seems that the rumors of the Sony Xperia Z2 getting an exclusive launch on Verizon Wireless wasn’t the only device rumor in regards to Big Red recently. Now we’re hearing rumors that Verizon may be picking up a phone from HTC. The HTC Desire 610. This new rumor comes from evleaks, which at this point shouldn’t surprise anyone as he ends up getting most of the leaked information about upcoming devices out there now a days. Evleaks says that the Desire 610 is being internally referred to for the Verizon network as HTC A3QHD#CL .
The HTC Desire 610 takes on quite a few design elements from the HTC One M8, or rather the M8 just inspired HTC’s design team to make the Desire 610 modeled after it a little. It has a longer and more narrow form factor than past HTC devices have had, and it also sports the dual front facing speakers on the top and bottom of the display. The device actually does come with somewhat decent specifications from what we’ve heard already in the past, even if it isn’t quite on par with the M8. For an entry level device though HTC didn’t skimp, and packed in all kinds of good stuff. In addition to the dual front facing speakers, the Desire 610 comes with a 2,040 mAh battery inside to power any and all activities during daily use. It actually even has a fairly decent processor, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core 400 chip clocked at 1.2 GHz. RAM wise it’s toting 1GB, so with that particular spec it’s a little light compared to what we see in most devices, but then again this is more of a budget device so 1GB should be just fine.
The screen size is 4.7-inches with a 960 x 540 pixel resolution, and the device also comes with an 8MP rear camera with an f/2.4 aperture, a 1.3MP front camera, and 8GB of internal storage space for whatever you need to save on the device. Boom sound is included for those who see themselves as audiophiles and love to have music going. If Verizon picks this device up, they likely will be the second carrier so far to most likely sell it, as there were rumors a couple months back that AT&T would also be carrying the phone. So far we wouldn’t know just how much VZW would be charging for the Desire 610, but that information should come in time when and if the confirmation that they’re carrying the phone comes to light.
