Earlier this week, Android Police broke out some news about Google Fit. Which appears to be Google’s way of getting back into the health and fitness market again. With all these wearables coming out including pedometers and other fitness goodies, it’s no surprise that Google is wanting to get in the game as well. Especially with Android Wear right around the corner. According to Android Police, it appears that the final name of this service will be Google Play Fitness. And they are also stating that it’ll likely work similar to how Google Play Games works. Which is, it has it’s own independent app, but is tied into Google Play Services. Which everything seems to be tied into Google Play Services, so I wouldn’t be surprised. So far there’s no word on which apps are working with Google to integrate Google Play Fitness, but from the information Android Police has posted, it does seem very likely that it will be integrated with other apps. Such as Runtastic, MyFitnessPal, etc.

Additionally, in the LG G Watch system dump that leaked out recently, we can see that there are already some fitness attributes inside the  G Watch. And I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see it available in Android Wear as well as just plain old Android. It’ll be interesting to see how all this Google Play Fitness stuff works out, but I am definitely interested in it. We should learn plenty more at Google I/O which is just over a week away. But in the meantime, I’m sure we’ll see some more leaks and rumors on Google Play Fitness and some other goodies that are expected for the keynote at Google I/O on June 25th.

How many of you are interested in the Google Play Fitness stuff that’s been rumored for Google I/O? What else are you interested in? Let us know in the comments below.
