Back in March we ran an article suggesting that the HTC Desire 610 would be heading to AT&T later in the year, and here we have more proof of this, thanks to @evleaks, the serial leaker of all things mobile. @evleaks has leaked a picture (below) that shows the Desire 610 sporting AT&T branded apps on the home-screen.

Hardware-wise, the Desire 610 is a middle of the range performer, powered by a Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 that is clocked at 1.2GHz, and 1GB of RAM, which is the bare minimum these days. There is 8GB of internal storage, with the ability to increase this via the Micro-SD slot that is included. A 4.7-inch qHD display is on offer, coupled with dual front-facing BoomSound speakers, which means that the Desire 610 is by no means a tiny phone with dimensions of 143.1 x 70.5 x 9.6mm to be exact, weighing in at 143.5 grams. The battery has a 2,040 mAh capacity and is non-removable.

On the connectivity side of things, you will need a nano-SIM for the Desire 610, which supports LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 LE as well as WiFi Bands b/g/n 2.4GHz. You can take pictures with the rear-facing 8MP camera which can also record video at 1080P, and there is a 1.3MP camera on the front of the phone for taking those embarrassing selfies.

The Desire 610 runs Android Version 4.4 KitKat, with HTC’s Sense 5.5 overlay running on top with Blinkfeed streaming customised updates from Facebook, Twitter, sports and the news to your phone. It’s satisfying to see a mid-range phone having the most current version (at least until next week perhaps) of Android installed from the start, being able to take advantage of the optimisations that KitKat has to offer lower-end devices.

At present there’s no official word on pricing or availability on AT&T, but you would think that the Desire 610 will become available sooner rather than later. If I was a betting man, I would say before the end of July. Here in the UK the Desire 610 sells for £179 ($305) Sim-Free from Carphone Warehouse, so taking into account the usual taxes and higher prices that handsets sell for in the UK, in the States the Desire 610 should be retailing for around 220-250 dollars without a service plan. The Desire 610 should also become available from Verizon in the coming months.

If you are in the market for a mid-range handset, does the Desire 610 tick all the boxes for you? If it doesn’t, which mid-range device would you choose? Let us know in the comments below or at our Google Plus page.
