A few months ago in April, Samsung unveiled their Galaxy Tab 4 to the world. Soon after in the month of June, an unusual mashup was unveiled. We all know about Barnes & Nobles Nook tablets. The tablet is pretty much their survival technique to make it in the new world of people reading books on electronic devices. This time around, Barnes & Noble took a different approach at their tablet by joining with Samsung to deliver the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. The device isn’t anything new, just the Barnes & Noble edition. The only problem is, we are left to imagine what this device is really about in a new ad that Barnes & Noble has posted on their Nook YouTube Channel.
In their latest video, Barnes and Noble teases us with their tablet. The video shows what seems to be a “real world test” with people holding the tablet exclaiming how amazing the device is. The whole entire time, the users never turn the device around, all we get to see is the rear shell which comes in colors of white and blue. So in reality, we’re just seeing the Galaxy Tab 4 and not the Nook edition because we don’t get a glimpse of the UI at all. Barnes & Noble really leaves us hanging at the end which lets our imaginations run wild with thoughts of what a Galaxy Tab 4 Nook will be like.
Spec wise, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook will more than likely have the same hardware and software as the regular Galaxy Tab 4. With that, the tablet includes a 7 inch display with 1280×800 screen resolution. The tablet itself runs on a quad core processor that clocks in at 1.2gHz. The camera setup is pretty basic with a 3 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. We have no word on a price for the tablet nor a launch date, but all of that vital news will surface on August 20 at an announcement event.
