HTC has announced the HTC Desire 510, an LTE equipped mid-range device, with the HTC touch of design. While the 510 may have lower specs than the other members of the Desire family, it’s still a beautiful device. Even better than the design, is the plans for release.

HTC launched the Desire 510 in Taiwan recently, and note that the Desire 510 will be the “most affordable LTE smartphone to-date” from the company. HTC hopes that the Desire 510 will help bring LTE experience to users who may not be able to afford the higher end devices that take full advantage of LTE. HTC Peter Chou said during the launch, “Owning the latest and greatest technology shouldn’t be reserved for those with the highest budgets.” The Desire 510 will be using that LTE capability to bring high-quality streaming possibilities to more people.

The Desire 510 will have a 4.7-inch display made for watching videos and gaming. Chou said ” People today should expect their smartphones to double as mobile entertainment hubs. This means ensuring that they’re fully loaded with the latest movies, TV shows and albums, by taking advantage of the super-fast network speeds available.” Behind the screen will be a Snapdragon 410 with 1.2 GHz. The Sanpdragon 410 chip supports 32-bit and 64-bit processing. 8GB on-board storage, 1GB RAM, a 5MP camera and a VGA front facing camera. The Desire will also have an SD slot for a possible 128GB memory expansion and Android 4.4 Kit Kat with Sense 6 on top.

A few aspects of this Desire device that may make it more appealing to some, is the LTE connectivity, and the Desire will work with an HTC Dot View Case. The other aspect of the Desire 510 that will separate it from the other members of the Desire line, is the release information.

HTC has announced that the Desire 510 will be available “Worldwide.” That means select regions in Asia and Europe, which isn’t different from the norm, what’s different is that the Desire 510 will also be sold in the US on select carriers. The device will be available in “Terra White and Meridian Grey,” with no information as far as pricing is concerned.
