During Samsung’s “UnPacked” event, there was plenty of long awaited news. Devices got announced, and release time frames and locations were mentioned. However, for one surprise from Samsung, the Galaxy Note Edge, there may be more to find out as far as where you’ll be able to find the device. The Galaxy Note Edge is a new device from Samsung that essentially takes the Galaxy Note 4, and curves the edge of the screen downward. The Note Edge is the first device from Samsung that takes advantage of the ability to curve the display in any way that will be released world-wide. The device has already been officially announced by all four major carriers in the U.S. and set for a release time frame of later this year. However, some of the other countries receiving the device have been pretty vague. All that’s been said as far as anywhere else receiving the Note Edge has been that it’ll soon be available in “select markets”.
According to a report from SamMobile, Samsung is currently testing the Note Edge in quite a few different places, which could suggest a release in those countries. So far, the list consists of Korea, Singapore, Australia, and Spain. While the device very well may be testing in those markets, it’s not official that the device will be available in any of them. Not until Samsung officially announces the availability of the Note Edge in these markets should you count on it being there. Though since Samsung is reportedly testing the device in other regions, it’s more probable that the Note Edge will be available.
Though all four major carriers in the U.S. have announced they will be carrying the Note Edge, there’s been no talk about the price point. This includes the regions where the device is being tested. We will surely keep you updated on any further details on the Galaxy Note Edge, as well as any other devices announced by Samsung during IFA.
