If you were watching our live stream of HTC’s Double Exposure event yesterday, you probably saw the nifty little gadget that was announced, the RE Camera. HTC’s Jason McKenzie stated that it would be available to purchase all over the world and here we have the UK carrier, EE, announcing that will be offering the RE Camera from early November.

Just to briefly recap on just what the HTC RE Camera is about, its a small device that almost looks like a premium quality elbow for some plastic tubing, but it isn’t. Rather, it’s a small camera that fits the contours of your hand, making it easy to hold and take spontaneous pictures and videos with, unlike the smart phones we often use. The RE Camera features a high-resolution 16MP CMOS sensor that can record Full HD video 1080p @30fps, and thanks to it’s 146 degree wide-angle lens there’s no need to have a display on the device. The RE Camera carries a 820mAh battery that allows for up to 1,200 pictures or a 100 minutes of video that can be stores on the included 8GB Micro-SD card. Memory cards with capacities up to 128GB are supported. In case of mishaps, the device is IP57 certified, meaning that it can be used to take pictures or record video whilst underwater.

On the software side of things, the RE Camera can share content via Bluetooth or WiFi. You can also back up photos and videos to the cloud via an app that will be available for both Android and iOS users. HTC have promised to add live broadcasting support to the RE Camera app.

HTC have announced a wide variety of accessories for the RE Camera, including an adjustable clamp and a Clip On mount. The Clip On mount let’s you attach the RE Camera to a backpack or clothing, so you can record the activity you are busy with without having to fuss with the camera. There’s more details regarding the accessories here.

EE will sell the HTC RE Camera for £169.99 which directly translates to around $275. If you are hankering after the HTC RE Camera, does £169.99 sound like a good deal to you? Let us know at our Google Plus page.
