We didn’t hear about this in the press conference this morning for the Motorola DROID Turbo, but it does indeed support Qi Wireless charging. Which the DROID Maxx did last year as well, so we pretty much figured we’d see it on the DROID Turbo, but the fact that it wasn’t mentioned at all worried us. But it is now confirmed to have wireless charging. So now you can just throw your DROID Turbo onto the Qi charging mat and it’ll charge. Although it won’t charge as quickly as the Turbo charger would.

You can pick up a Qi Wireless charger from Amazon pretty cheap now. I recently picked up a CHOE wireless charger from Amazon for about $15 and had been using it for the LG G3 and the Sony Xperia Z3v. It works great for both of them. I haven’t had a chance to use it on the DROID Turbo, since it’s at home and I’m not. But Motorola did confirm that there is Qi charging inside. So there’s that.

The DROID Turbo features a 5.2-inch 2560×1440 resolution AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage, with no microSD card slot. There’s also a 21mp camera on the back and a 2mp front-facing camera. Both of which take pretty good shots. Not to mention the 3900mAh battery that Verizon packed inside this phone. It’s running on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with a few customizations from Motorola and Verizon, most of which are in the form of extra apps which can be easily uninstalled.

So there’s that. For those wondering, it does do Qi Wireless charging. We have a few wireless chargers down below that you can take a look at for your brand new DROID Turbo. Let us know if you pick one up, and how you like it.
