With all the hype surrounding flagship handsets such as the Galaxy Note 4, it’s quite easy to forget that not everyone can justify breaking the bank to own the latest and greatest. Sometimes, you just want a phone that does the job; as in take pictures, answer calls and send texts with and perhaps browse Facebook a little. With that in mind, Samsung have announced that it’s latest addition to its budget range, the Galaxy Ace 4 LTE, is to become available to purchase in the UK from October 17th.
The Galaxy Ace 4 LTE has a 4.3-inch Super-AMOLED display with a 480 x 800 (WVGA) resolution and is powered by a Quad-Core processor that is clocked at 1.2GHz (probably a Snapdragon 200). There is 1GB of RAM on offer and 8GB of internal storage, although you can increase that by up to 64GB via the included Micro-SD card slot. A 1.3MP VGA is present on the front of the device for video chat and taking selfies while on the rear there is a 5MP camera with flash that is capable of recording 720p video @30fps. A 1,900mAh battery is said to provide up to 9 hours of talk-time (LTE). The Ace 4 LTE weighs in at 126 grams with dimensions of 128.9 x 65.8 x 9.1mm. The Ace 4 LTE is available in white or black options.
Naturally, being called the Galaxy Ace 4 LTE, the device supports LTE networks over the following bands – 2100/1800/2600/900/800 along with the usual 2G/3G bands GSm850/GSM900/DCS1800/DCS1900. Support for LTE CAT 4 is included, which means being able to take download speeds of up to 150Mbps and uploads up to 50Mbps if your network supports it. A 3.5mm headphone jack is present, along with support for USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.
At present there’s no word on prices, but Samsung have said that the handset will be available to purchase from its Samsung Experience Stores across the UK, as well as EE and other online retailers from October 17th. O2 will also offer the budget handset sometime after. The Galaxy Ace 4 LTE is a budget phone with decidedly budget specifications.
