We have heard a lot of news about three specific Google apps recently. They are Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides. The news all began a couple of days ago when the three google services all received updates. Docs received a new line spacing features, while Sheets received a new scroll faster feature and lastly, Slides received the ability to move and shape content within slideshows much more effectively. If you have not received the updates yet then click here to head over to where you can download the updates. This was not the end of the news though as today Google has announced more news on the updated trio.

According to the post from Google today Docs, Sheets and Slides are all becoming much more accessible within the Google ecosystem. Now if you are on any Google page (Gmail, G+, youtube and so on) then you will be able to instantly open either Docs, Sheets or slides from the drop-down Google menu. For those unfamiliar with the google on-page menu this is the small box (consisting of nine smaller boxes) in the top right corner. As such, the newly added apps now take pride of place alongside the big Google features like Gmail, Drive, YouTube and the rest. If you are already clicking on the menu and don’t see the updated apps included then don’t worry, there’s a reason for this.

At present, Google is only making Docs included in the drop down menu by default. As such you will need to click on the ‘More’ at the bottom of the menu to bring up the Docs icon. It is worth remembering though, that you can always rearrange these icons into any order you like. If, for instance, you use Docs more than the other Google services then move it to the front of the list. In terms of Sheets and Slides, the function has now been activated and the next time yoou visit either of the services you will see an option to add them to your launcher menu. So do you use Docs, Slides or Sheets often? Are you happy they are now getting a much more accessible quick launch feature? Let us know.
