HTC has held an event in New York back in October where this Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer launched company’s newest handset, the Desire Eye. This is not the only thing they launched though, RE Camera is yet another device the company launched, but we’re talking about a GoPro action cam competitor rather than a mobile device here. Anyhow, let’s focus on the Desire Eye. This handset is extremely uncharacteristic for HTC, we’re used to seeing certain types of devices from HTC and the Desire Eye definitely doesn’t fit in that category, not by a long shot, let alone the RE Camera. The Desire Eye sports two 13-megapixel sensors, one on the back and one on the front, which quite frankly looks odd and… well, unnecessary, though I’m sure many of you will disagree with me and actually like this. Either way, HTC has decided to promote its newest handset by releasing two short commercials.

This Taiwanese manufacturer is trying to promote the HTC Eye Experience software which is implemented inside the Desire Eye handset, same goes for the One M8 actually, which got the update somewhat recently. The HTC Eye Experience has a ton of camera features, like Live Makeup feature, which can change your skin look for selfie shots in order to make you younger and better looking, in a nutshell. Screen Share is yet another mentioned feature, this feature lets you show what is on your phone screen to someone else, a person you’re video chatting with. We’ve already talked about these features before, so no point in going over all of them again, but HTC really did put some effort into this. Regarding the commercials themselves, they’re really short and you can check them out below the article if you’d like, you’ll notice 2 embedded videos down there. The HTC Eye Experience will also arrive on the HTC One E8, One Mini, One Mini 2, One Max, Desire 816, Desire 820 and the HTC Butterfly 2 handsets.

HTC Desire Eye features a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 128GB). This handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz and it ships with Android 4.4.4 KitKat with HTC’s Sense UI on top of it.
