So last week we saw Lenovo’s A6000 smartphone being announced at CES in Las Vegas, and going against the saying that states ‘what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’, the A6000 has now become available in India via Flipkart for Rs. 6,999 ($113).
So what are you getting for your Rs. 6,999? As you can see from the images, the Lenovo A6000 is your standard black slab smartphone, there are no funky colours or weird design cues. The IPS display has 5-inches of real estate with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Processing power is provided by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410, which is a 64-bit capable Quad-Core chip that is clocked at 1.2GHz. An Adreno 306 GPU, that is clocked at 400MHz, provides the graphics. There’s 1GB of RAM on tap for multi-tasking and 8GB of internal storage present. The Lenovo A6000 weighs in at 128 grams and has the following dimensions – 70 x 141 x 8.2mm, so it’s quite pocketable. There is a fairly standard sized 2,300 mAh battery included as well. On the rear of the phone we have an 8MP auto-focus camera with LED flash that can record 720p video, with a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chatting. The A6000 will launch with Android version 4.4. KitKat with Lenovo’s Vibe 2.0 custom interface on top.
Moving on to connectivity, the Lenovo supports the LTE (4G) Band 40 and Band 3, and as with most smartphones released in India, the A6000 carries support for Dual-SIM’s. The usual WiFi bands (b/g/n) and Bluetooth (4.0 LE) support is included, along with A-GPS and Micro-USB 2.0 connectivity.
The Lenovo A6000 is available from Flipkart for Rs. 6,999, and as Henry Ford once said about Ford’s Model T automobile “You can paint it in any colour, so long as it’s black”.
