Trivia games can be so much fun, especially when playing with friends and family. A prime example of the genre is Trivia Crack, which is an award-winning trivia (doh!) game that is one of the world’s most downloaded apps, topping the Google Play Store charts in the U.S. and 22 other countries. Today we have the app’s developer, Etermax, announcing a version of Trivia Crack that has been tailored to the UK market.

So how will the UK version differ from the standard English language version? Well, it will include questions such as ” Which magazine greeted the birth of Prince George with the front-page headlines, ‘WOMAN HAS BABY?'”; ” Who would Cheryl Cole want to be reborn as?” and “Which footballer is known for the phrase ‘Why always me?'” So there will be loads of questions regarding UK sports, the Royal family as well as so-called celebrities among other relevant topics. It’s a nice touch from the developer, as it can be quite frustrating having to answer a question that has no meaning outside of its local context.

If you (somehow) haven’t played Trivia Crack before, it begins like so. You download and install the app from one of the links provided below, and upon opening the app, you will be asked whether you want to connect via Facebook or email address. After that, you can get straight into the action by starting a game with a friend or a random opponent. You’ll be asked to spin the category wheel, and then you will get the chance to answer their allotted questions. Categories include science, entertainment, art, geography, sports and history with each category having its own corresponding character to be won. The answers are timed and the first person to get all six characters wins, after which a new game can be started. 2,000 questions are added to the game every day, and players can submit their own questions to be checked over via the app. So far, over 200,000 questions have been suggested.

As you can guess, Trivia Crack is one of those games that can be played anywhere, just by clicking the appropriate game to play and answering the question at hand. Of course, more games being played with more opponents will result in more time being spent playing the trivia game. So that’s something to look out for when trying to sneak a surreptitious round in at the office meeting.

Etermax’s Maximo Cavazzani say’s that “With 26 million users already playing Trivia Crack in the U.S. , we are thrilled to bring the game to the UK audiences with the hopes of seeing the same enthusiasm by users there.” Trivia Crack is compatible with both phones and tablets so long as they are running Android version 2.3.3 GingerBread and up which makes a nice departure. If you have friends with devices using other operating systems, there is no need to fret as Trivia Crack is also available on iOS and Windows Phone. Trivia Crack is ad-supported, but there is an ad-free option available for £1.99 ($2.99) if you find the ads annoying.

So what do you think? Will Trivia Crack replace the other addictive games on your Android device such as Candy Crush Soda Saga? Click the Google Play or Amazon Appstore links below to install Trivia Crack on your device and let us know your thoughts on the game on our Google Plus page.
