While ASUS weren’t in attendance at Mobile World Congress with new devices, they were showing off previously announced devices, like the surprising ZenFone 2 they announced back in January during CES 2015. The ZenFone 2 was one of the mobile hits from CES 2015, not only did it show what an Intel-powered smartphone could do, but it was one of the first devices to be announced with 4GB of RAM in a serious manner. At 5.5-inches, the ZenFone 2 is not a device for those looking for a regular-sized device, but it’s one hell of an impressive mid-range device. Now, ASUS seems ready to bring the ZenFone 2 to market, and getting things started is an official promo from ASUS themselves.
The Taiwanese company might not have been making smartphones for a long time, but they have been involved in the Android tablet and PC Gaming markets for a long time. Needless to say, they know how to put together a decent promo video. In their latest two-minute video for the ZenFone 2, they highlight all the major features of their latest smartphone. Refreshingly, these are features that will appeal to everyday users, like the ability to get more of your friends in that selfie or the ability to take better photos in low-light. ZenUI makes a return this time around, and as we noted in last year’s ZenFone 5 review, it’s a nice addition that can be genuinely helpful. The promo is packed full of features, just as the ZenFone 2 is it’d seem, and it’s all backed by a catchy dance beat that should get people thinking the ZenFone 2 is a phone of ‘the future’.
The ZenFone 2 is definitely a device to watch this year, especially considering that this guy starts at $199 US, and while that price might not be for the 4GB RAM model, this is a great phone for this sort of money. Hopefully, we’ll be able to put it through its paces soon enough and bring you a review.
