Some of you may remember that earlier this year Samsung France confirmed that the Galaxy Note 3 Neo would be receiving an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. This came as great news to customers of the device as not many people thought that it would be receiving a Lollipop update. But then doubt set in once more as time passed with no word on the Galaxy Note 3 Neo receiving its update. Well, it’s time to to put all of the doubt to rest Galaxy Note 3 Neo owners, today Samsung Netherlands has reaffirmed that the Lollipop update is indeed coming to the device.
Today on Twitter the Samsung Netherlands account tweeted the following two-part tweet in response to a customer, “Hi there, according to our last information the Note 3 Neo will have the Lollipop update in The Netherlands but we have no further information when this will be. We have no information if and when this will be in Poland ;-)”. So there you have it, yet another confirmation that the Galaxy Note 3 Neo will be receiving an update to Android Lollipop. Unfortunately, just like the previous announcement from Samsung France, there was no further information provided as to when the update will become available to users.
Despite not having an exact release date set for the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, the device is still going to get a Lollipop update in the end and that’s great news. The Galaxy Note 3 Neo is somewhat of a budget device and the fact that Samsung is giving such a significant update to one of their cheaper devices should make everyone a bit happy. If you hadn’t heard of the Galaxy Note 3 Neo until this article, it was essentially a budget friendly variant of the Galaxy Note 3. It came with an S Pen stylus and all of the great features related to it that make Samsung’s Note series of devices so desirable. What separated the Neo from the regular Galaxy Note 3 and made it budget friendly was its bumped down specs.
The Galaxy Note 3 Neo had a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720 display, 1.3 GHz Exynos 5260 dual-core processor, 3100 mAh battery, and last but not least an 8MP camera. Definitely lower specs compared to the Galaxy Note 3 but still no slouch by any means. Hopefully, Samsung continues to pay attention to their older and lower-end devices like they did here.
