If you’ve been following the news in the last couple of days, you know that UMi is preparing to launch a new smartphone dubbed the UMi Iron. This China-based smartphone manufacturer is definitely not the one of the most popular or well-known China-based OEMs, but they’re trying to get there. Anyhow, we’ve seen a leaked UMi Iron image the other day which quite frankly didn’t reveal all that much info. The image was black and white, and all we could gather from it is that the device will sport a dual-LED, dual tone flash on the back, and that it will be made out of metal (unibody construction). We do have some new info to share with you now though, read on.
According UMi’s official Facebook page, the UMi Iron will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, will sport a QuadHD display (2560 x 1440), and the device will also ship with a 64-bit octa-core SoC. The processor in question is MediaTek’s MT6795 unit, at least according to the info UMi has provided, and it doesn’t really get more official than that. We’re sure that UMi will release more info in the coming days / weeks, so stay tuned for that, we’ll report back as soon as they do. All in all, it seems like this will be the most powerful device UMi has released this year, and you can also expect it to sport a very attractive price, on top of everything.
As a side note, UMi has recently released the UMi EMAX handset which is already available from a number of online retailers in China, and you can purchase it for around $160-170 if you’re interested. Keep in mind that you’re able to purchase this thing all over the world considering that the aforementioned retailers like Coolicool, PandaWill… and many more are actually shipping their merchandise all over the world. There you have it folks, the additional UMi Iron info is here, and we’re waiting for the company to announce this device, judging by the amount of leaked info, the launch date can’t be that far away at this point.
