Netflix is without a doubt the most popular on-demand internet movie streaming service around numerous regions of the world, including North America, Australia, and some parts of Europe among several more. The service was launched back in 1999 and by the year 2009, Netflix already had more than 100,000 titles and over 10 million subscribers. During the first quarter of 2015, the company reported to have around 60 million subscribers. This exponential growth has led other companies to pursue this subscription-based on-demand movie service, as it is a great and relatively stable source of income. Today, a new screenshot has appeared on Google+, which hints towards Google itself launching a new movie on-demand service to compete with the many already existing services.

Google has a program called Opinion Rewards in which users are asked to answer a small survey to be rewarded with Google Play credits. The main goal of the Google Opinion Rewards. is to make market studies for products close to development and based on them, make the necessary decisions on whether the upcoming product should move on to the next phase of development or not. All the surveys sent to Google Opinion Rewards’ users are created by the Consumer Surveys area inside Google, which means that all the questions included within the app must be taken into consideration as a real upcoming product.

Today, a question popped up inside the Google Opinion Rewards asking the user, Hugo Seijas, if he had a Google monthly movie pass. Seijas quickly took a screenshot after being surprised by Google’s question, as there hasn’t been any kind of announcements from the company regarding a new movies on-demand streaming service. If Google actually launches said service, it would directly compete with the incredibly popular Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video among several other services. The internet giant is hoping that the new service will catch on, as many users of Google services rely completely on the company’s own Play Movies rental service, with a subscription based system; many users would be really pleased to know that all their favorite movies are now available at the cost of a reasonable monthly fee.
