LinkedIn is a social network with a business oriented mindset, launched on May 2003, the service has grown exponentially since, with more than 20 million members spread across more than 200 countries and territories. The business social networking site also serves as a great tool to keep in touch with the numerous news related to the enterprise world, but it is not by any means optimized to be a news reader. This is why the company acquired Pulse back in 2013, a unified and personalized news reader experience. After being rebranded to LinkedIn Pulse, the service evolved to closely follow the many events of the professional world and was amended with a new main goal, to remove all the news that the user wouldn’t find important and only present the ones that will have profound effect on him or her. Today, the application received a complete overhaul with a new update, which brought major improvements in both functionality and design.

LinkedIn Pulse is programmed to seamlessly keep track of all the business-related topics you are interested in, without having to spend any time at all configuring or selecting the different topics that are appealing to you. To enjoy from the different features that LinkedIn Pulse has to offer, you only have to sign in with your LinkedIn account and the app takes care of everything. Based on the company or industry you work in, LinkedIn Pulse will select the news sites and articles that are closely related to it.

The latest update to LinkedIn Pulse, brings a complete redesigned UI; based on Material Design, the application is now a pleasure to use. A new card UI was used to easily navigate through all the different news and content. LinkedIn Pulse also added several new features, such as the ability to remove any stories you are not interested in with a quick swipe and to easily follow any author without a hassle. These features will help LinkedIn Pulse continue to refine your news taste and bring you only the most relevant content. The updated app is already available for download in the Google Play Store, so make sure to download it as the old Pulse app will cease to work by the end of 2015.
