With Samsung’s last flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, the company really tried to incorporate modern style into the design. Samsung continued this into their latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6. Although, the style portion of the design arguably shows significantly better when it comes to the Galaxy S6 as opposed to the Galaxy S5. Samsung seems a bit more confident with the stylish and beautiful design of the Galaxy S6 and they really showed that this afternoon.
Today Samsung announced that they will be partnering with both Vogue and GQ to feature the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in their magazines. Samsung did do this last year as well except it was only with Vogue that time around. This time though, Samsung is bringing their flagship device to two of the biggest style magazines in the world in order to get the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge in front of potential style-minded customers.
This should come as no surprise to anybody as Samsung has always been big on advertising. A lot of the time that advertising can be a little unorthodox as you can see with this announcement. Samsung already did something similar this year with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge with the launch of a line of designer cases. These cases were made by companies such as Swarovski and Burton, cases that wouldn’t appeal to the regular everyday user, but instead to the style-minded consumer.
With the Galaxy S6, Samsung is really taking the phrase, “premium smartphone” to the next level. Samsung trying to appeal to style-minded consumers is definitely an interesting move seeing as they are marketing smartphones. You don’t really see a ton of smartphone manufacturers trying to do so in today’s market, at least not in as big of ways as Samsung is with the Galaxy S6. Although, one could technically argue that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are the two best looking smartphones that are currently on the market, giving Samsung more of a reason to market them in the way that they currently are.
