It’s pretty much confirmed that we are going to see two Nexus smartphones later this month from Google. One from LG and one from Huawei. We had heard that the LG Nexus would be Nexus 5X, when the rumor of the September 29th event had popped up. Now we’re hearing that the Huawei Nexus that is supposedly going to be around 5.7-inches, is going to be named the Nexus 6P. We should hear more about these two devices as we get closer to the September 29th date. Where Google is expected to announce both, as well as a new Chromecast.
The LG Nexus 5X is supposedly going to feature a 5.2-inch display that will have a 1080p resolution. We’re hearing that it’ll be sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM and 2700mAh battery inside. While the Huawei Nexus 6P is going to featuring a 5.7-inch with a Snapdragon 810 inside, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The leaks that have appeared for both devices, look to be similar. With Google getting a polycarbonate back on both the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, as well as having a fingerprint sensor on the back below the camera. Which is a bit unfortunate, especially with Sony adding theirs into the power button. Which would be much more useful for most people.
These names for the two new Nexus’ are coming out of Droid Life, which claims that their source will be sharing more once they get closer to the event, which is still rumored for September 29th. So definitely expect more rumors and leaks between now and then. Which is only a little over a week away, and we definitely can’t wait. Along with the two new Nexus smartphones from LG and Huawei, we are expecting to see Android 6.0 Marshmallow be shipped that same day. As it should be available for current Nexus devices (including the Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Nexus 9, and possibly older models) as well as shipping on the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. We’ll definitely have to keep everyone up to date with what’s going on with the new Nexus devices, but it’s an exciting time of year, for sure.
