A couple of new smartphones from Oppo will now be available for purchase in India. The Chinese manufacturer has reportedly launched its R7 Lite and R7 Plus smartphones in the country at Rs. 17,990 ($270) and Rs. 29,990 ($450) respectively. Both phones run on Android 5.1 Lollipop in the form of Oppo’s proprietary Color OS ROM, and will reportedly come in two color options – gold and silver. While the R7 Lite will be up for grabs from September 10th, the R7 Plus will reportedly be made available September 25th onwards, according to reports. The phones were launched in China earlier this year, and Oppo is expected to continue their global rollout in the weeks and months to follow.

Coming to what the devices bring in terms of hardware, the R7 Lite features a 5-inch 720p AMOLED 2.5D Curved Screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 chipset, which has an embedded octa-core, 64-bit CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz and an Adreno 405 GPU. The handset also comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage out of the box, with a hybrid dual SIM / microSD card slot. The phone carries a 2,320 mAh battery with VOOC Rapid Charge, and supports 4G LTE connectivity, alongside 3G, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. As for the cameras, the Oppo R7 Lite sports a 13-megapixel rear camera (Sony IMX214 sensor) with LED Flash and an f/2.2 aperture. The front camera comes with an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

As for the larger and more premium R7 Plus, the smartphone features a rather large 6-inch 1080p AMOLED 2.5D Curved Screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, which includes an octa-core, 64-bit CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz and an Adreno 405 GPU. The handset comes with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage, with a hybrid dual SIM / microSD card slot, much like its smaller cousin. The cameras include the exact same sensors on the front and back, including the primary Sony IMX214 image sensor. The Oppo R7 Plus also comes with a fingerprint scanner, unlike the R7 Lite. It also includes a larger, 4,100 mAh battery, and includes 4g LTE connectivity alongside 3G, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG support.
