Android One OTA Links for Marshmallow

Last year, Google announced Android One at Google I/O with the hopes of getting the next billion people online. Essentially, Android One is made up of a few smartphones that are really, really cheap but still have somewhat decent specs. These smartphones are currently targeting developing markets like India, Indonesia, Turkey and others. But Google does have a plan to expand Android One even further in the near future. There are many Android One smartphones available, but for the most part they are all the same specs. Which means rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow to these devices are somewhat easy. Earlier this week, Google did start the roll out for Marshmallow to their Android One devices, but now we have the official OTA links, so you are able to sideload them all yourself.

OTA Links for the Symphony Roar A50 (for Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka), Cherry Mobile One (Myanmar), Karbonn Sparkle V (India), Micromax Canvas A1 (India), Spice Dream Uno (India), MyPhone Uno (Philippines), Mito Impact A10 (Indonesia), and the Nexian Journey One (Indonesia).

Now, in order to sideload these OTA’s, you will need to be on Lollipop with build LMY48M, with the software unmodified. Basically what we mean is you can’t be rooted and it needs to be the stock ROM. Then you can sideload the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow through your recovery, and it should only take a few minutes. These downloads will be much smaller than downloading an entire factory image, and also much faster to sideload then restoring your device back with a factory image.

There are a few other Android One smartphones that haven’t been listed here. Once those OTA links for Android 6.0 Marshmallow are visible, we’ll be sure to update this page, so make sure you bookmark it so you can sideload some Marshmallow goodness if you haven’t already.

One of the big advantages of getting an Android One device, other than the price, is the quick updates and stock Android. In fact, this time around, Android One users are getting their update before Nexus 6 users, which is kinda crazy. Supposedly, Android One should get their update after the Nexus line.
