Titanium Backup Updated With Support For Marshmallow

If you are a rooted device owner, then the chances that you use Titanium Backup already will be very high. At the very least, if rooted, it will be an app you have heard off. That is because Titanium Backup is one of the most popular apps for rooted Android devices and one which provides an invaluable level of backing up and restoring. Most handy if you often switch phones and want to keep all your apps and data the same across the different devices. Well, last week saw Google introduce the latest version of Android, 6.0 (Marshmallow) and this means that along with all the manufacturers trying to adapt the code to match their particular flavor of Android, third party content developers (like the folks behind Titanium Backup) will also be busy adapting their apps and content to work with Marshmallow.

On that note, that is exactly what has now happened as the Titanium Backup app has received an update today. One which brings with it support for Marshmallow. Which is very handy as it was only earlier today when reports came in that SuperSU had also been updated to allow Marshmallow devices to be rooted (albeit with a modified boot image). Of course, in spite of the likes of SuperSU and Titanium Backup being updated to be compatible with Marshmallow, most devices will likely have to wait some time until they can make use of the new features. As at present, it is only select Nexus devices which have began receiving their update. Either way though, for those who like to root, it is good to note that when your update to Marshmallow does begin to roll through for your device, staples like SuperSU and Titanium Backup will be ready and waiting.

It is briefly worth pointing out that Titanium Backup also does have a few more minor bug fixes and performances thrown in with this update too. So if you are running the app, irrespective of Marshmallow, then it is still worth getting the update. You can see what the minor improvements are by heading through the source link below and over to the Play Store listing where the full update changelog is listed.
