Samsung has introduced two flagship phablets this year, the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Both of these devices were launched at the same time, back in August. The two phablets are shipping with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop pre-installed, and it was just a matter of time before we stumble upon first Marshmallow update news for these two phablets. As you all probably know, Samsung’s Marshmallow update roadmap has leaked recently, and it has revealed that these two phablets might get the update next month. Well, a new leak appeared which also points in that direction, kind off, read on.

Believe it or not, a rouge Galaxy Note 5 OTA update has rolled out to at least one Galaxy Note 5 phablet bought at T-Mobile. The user who received this update actually didn’t have an IMEI code attached to his device, and he was trying to install the official firmware after spending some time on a custom ROM. Well, he was in for a surprise considering he got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow instead of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update on his Galaxy Note 5 phablet. This is an unusual situation though, so you can expect to get this update before Samsung officially starts to roll it out. The user says that Samsung didn’t change that many things as far as looks go, but Marshmallow features are included in there (check out the screenshots down below). The build number is MRA58K.N920TUVU2DOK5, and it seems like the official update for the Note 5 might be right around the corner.

The Galaxy Note 5 is one of the most premium devices available in the market at the moment. The device is made out of metal, and it sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display along with 4GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of non-expandable internal storage. The device is powered by the Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core SoC along with a Mali-T760 MP8 GPU for graphics. The 16-megapixel OIS shooter is located on the back of this phablet, and a 5-megapixel snapper is available up front. The non-removable 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package, and same can be said about Samsung’s S Pen stylus which brings extra functionality to this tablet.
