Right now, the race is very much on for manufacturers to bring to their respective devices, the latest incarnation of Android, which is Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). One of the manufacturers who have always been considered to be quick when it comes to updating their devices, following the release of the new version by Google, is Motorola. After all, there version of Android is a very light one, which means it typically needs less time to be customized then say, Samsung’s TouchWiz. As such, many eyes are currently on Motorola to see how quickly they can bring Marshmallow to their respective devices.

Well, if you happen to own a Moto X Pure in the U.S., then it looks like your update to Marshmallow will be coming soon. In fact, Motorola have pretty much confirmed that it will be arriving in the “next few weeks”. The confirmation has come from typical Motorola information provider, David Schuster, via his Google+ account which notes that the Moto X Pure version of Marshmallow has now entered its ‘approval status’. The ‘few weeks’ suggested by Schuster will of course, be dependent on the lack of any major issues arising between now and the roll out date. In addition to the Moto X Pure, Schuster has also confirmed that the Marshmallow update is now beginning for the Moto X Style (2015) in Brazil and India. While the Moto X (2nd Gen) update is also beginning in Brazil as well.

As well as making the general announcement, Schuster also did release details on what can be expected with the update including a rather detailed changelog. Some of those changes listed include a new Memory Manager, the addition of a ‘do not disturb’ button in quick settings, the arrival of System UI Tuner in the settings menu, Google Now on Tap, Doze, App Standby, Expandable Storage support, RAM manager in settings, Automatic App backup, as well as improvements to the likes of text selection and volume controls. Those interested in reading about the changes and improvements in more detail, can do so by heading through the source link below and over to Schuster’s post where he also links to the full and official changelog.
