Android 6.0 Marshmallow Heading to the Sprint LG G Stylo

The LG G Stylo may not be a high-end smartphone from Sprint, or LG, but it is a pretty popular one among Sprint’s users (it’s also available on Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile, Sprint’s own prepaid carriers). The LG G Stylo is a 5.7-inch device with a built-in stylus (internationally it’s known as the LG G4 Stylus). And today, Sprint is pushing out Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the device. That’s less than two weeks after Sprint pushed out the Android 6.0 update to the LG G4. Not bad at all. Considering most other flagships still don’t have their update. Good job LG and Sprint.

Currently, there’s no changeling available for the Marshmallow update for the LG G Stylo, but we know there are some bug fixes included as there always are. With Android 6.0 Marshmallow, users will also get to use a few new features. The headlining features being Doze and Google Now on Tap. Doze is something that many likely won’t even notice as it runs in the background. But Doze allows your phone to get even better standby time. As it allows absolutely everything to sleep when your phone is not being used. Google Now on Tap, however is amazing. Allowing you to highlight text in a web page, or an app and get information from Google Now, without searching Google for it. This is brand new in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and users will definitely love using it.

The update is available as build LS770ZV7, and is available now. So if you haven’t already received the pop up to download and update your phone, you should be getting the update shortly. And you can always head on into Settings > About Phone > Check for System Updates and attempt to pull it down. If you are unsuccessful, you may have to wait a bit for it to be available. These updates generally go out as staged updates, just to be sure that everyone that updates their device actually has a working device afterwards. We’ve seen updates before that brick the device, or keep you from being able to connect to data again. What a great way to end the year for LG, by getting Marshmallow out to the LG G Stylo.
