OnePlus has unveiled two smartphones last year, the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X. The OnePlus 2 is a direct successor to their first ever smartphone / flagship, the OnePlus One, while the OnePlus X represents the company’s mid-range, even more affordable offering. That being said, both of these phones can now be purchased without and invite, and the OnePlus 2 has been permanently discounted a couple of weeks ago.

As you probably already know, OnePlus’ devices ship with the company’s OxygenOS on top of stock Android, it’s a very light skin actually. OxygenOS is basically stock Android with some added features on top of it, like gestures and what not. Well, OnePlus has recently released an announcement on their official forums that OxygenOS 2.2.1 update is rolling out to OnePlus 2 as we speak. OnePlus’ project manager actually shared this info with consumers, and has provided what’s new in the update itself. This update brings RAW support to OnePlus camera, while it improves Bluetooth and Ultra SIM compatibility. GMS 3.0 upgrade is also included in here, and the roaming issues some users experienced should also be gone now. OnePlus has also improved the occasional image corruption issue in the OnePlus camera, and this update also contains the security patch upgrade. The last, but not least, is the added Romanian language support, which affects only Romanian consumers, but it is worth mentioning nonetheless.

Keep in mind that the OTA rollout of this update is incremental, as it’s the case with every update, so be patient, the update will hit your device sooner or later. The OnePlus 2 spots a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB / 4GB of RAM (3GB variant has been removed in a number of countries), and 16GB / 64GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 13-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of this phone. You can always check out our full spec sheet, or a review of this handset, in case you’re not that familiar with it at this point. That’s pretty much it, if OnePlus releases any more info, we’ll make sure to let you know.
