Huawei has already introduced quite a few devices this year. The third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world has announced two tablets, and several new smartphones thus far. The Huawei P9 and P9 Plus flagships are amongst the company’s announced devices this year, and the company has confirmed that the Honor V8 will be introduced on May 10th. That being said, the Honor 5C has been certified by TENAA on April 13th, and it was just a matter of time before it gets announced. Well, Honor, Huawei’s subsidiary, has introduced this device earlier today, read on.
The Huawei Honor 5C is Honor 4C’s successor. The ‘Honor C’ line of devices was released back in 2013, when the company released the Honor 3C. The Honor 5C is actually quite a well-specced smartphone, especially for the asking price. This is a mid-range smartphone which sports a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card slot). The device is fueled by the Kirin 650 64-bit octa-core processor, which is Huawei’s mid-range SoC. The 13-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens) can be found on the back of the Honor 5C, and an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter is also a part of this package. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Honor 5C, and on top fo it, you’ll find Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 4.1 skin. The 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. The Honor 5C offers 4G LTE connectivity (VoLTE included), and you’ll need a Nano SIM in order to use this phone properly. The Honor 5C measures 147.1 x 73.8 x 8.3mm, while it weighs 156 grams.
The Honor 5C is made out of metal, as you can see, and it sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The device comes in Dark Gray and Space Silver color options, and sports no physical keys on its front side. Now, the Honor 5C is priced at 899 Yuan ($139) in China, which makes this handset really affordable. For those of you who live in China, this device is already available for pre-order, and will be available for purchase on May 5th. We still don’t have any info on international availability of this phone, we’ll let you know as soon as Honor releases more info.
