If you have been following the YouTube news of late, you will have noticed that the YouTube brand has started widening its availability in app form. Those who are more interested in gaming will be well-versed with the YouTube Gaming app which became available mid-way through last year. While those more music-focused will be equally well-versed in the new YouTube Music app which became available back towards the end of last year.

Speaking of which, it looks like a new update is now en route to the YouTube Music app. The update was posted last night and while it does not include too much, it does include one particularly useful feature for those who make use of the offline listening ‘mixtape’ feature. Up until now, when listening to the mixtape feature without a data or Wi-Fi connection, there was no ability to remove any of the listed tracks from the playlist. In short, that is what seems to be the biggest feature included in this update. Swiping to the left on any of the listed tracks while in offline mixtape mode, will now remove the tracks from the playlist.

Interestingly, the changelog posted for the update also points to the inclusion of a screen orientation feature now being included. Although, as Android Police points out, it does not actually seem as though this is a feature that has been physically included in this latest update. Whether it was supposed to be or has been included in the changelog by error, currently remains to be seen. Although it does seem likely that it will either be switched on or included in a future update at some point soon. Especially, as the changelog does detail that “these features will be rolling out to all subscribers over the next few weeks“. Either way, if you do want to install the latest version of YouTube Music now, then you can by downloading and installing the updated APK manually through the link below.
