YouTube’s playlists offer a great way for users to share various videos based on similar themes on a single page for others to view, like or comment. If you’ve hosted a birthday party for one of your dearest friends, once the party is over, you can compile all the videos shot by your friends and put them together on YouTube to live the memories again and to laugh about all the funny things you all did. Back in May, Google decided to make good use of YouTube Playlists by creating a new playlist featuring a number of videos from its I/O Conference which concluded just a few days prior to when the playlist was created. The playlist can be viewed by developers, researchers, software engineers and consumers from time to time to get a nice little round-up of the event.

Nest, a Google-owned smart products company, has also created a new, but short, playlist on YouTube based on a theme named ‘Mystery solved.’ The playlist includes a total of seven short home videos which show how some little accidents and events occurred in people’s homes and are quite funny to be honest. The “Car. Pool. Mystery solved” video shows an out-of-control car breaking through a fence and plunging down on a pool while its owner helplessly runs behind it, the “Runaway mower. Mystery solved” video shows how a lawn mower, whose gear is turned up by a travelling ball suddenly rampages through a garden on its own, and the “Rear end. Mystery solved” video shows how a speeding car hits the rear of a parked one, but the driver coolly makes a turn and drives on without anyone noticing.

The videos in the “Mystery solved” playlist may have been captured by owners of Nest Cams across the country. Basically, it is a great way to bring the Nest community together and to encourage users to share more such videos to demonstrate the capabilities of Nest’s cameras. The company launched a new $199 Outdoor Camera featuring human detection and event recording in July, thus demonstrating that it is still up for a fight with new technologies and concepts. While the playlist is quite eye-catching, it remains to be seen if the initiative will catch on and if viewers will indeed be motivated enough to go for new cams to record events in their parking lots and gardens in real time.
