You Can Grab The System Images For The Pixel & Pixel XL

Over the weekend it seems that the system images for both the Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL have made their way to the web, and they’re available to download if you’re keen to get your hands on them. While anything new that is capable of being used from these system images may very well pop up for download as well over the coming days, the reason for grabbing the system images themselves is that they can contain a handful of different things which are usable on other devices, such as ringtones, notification tones, wallpapers and more.

Now that the system images are available to download, which you can grab from the buttons below, users will no doubt begin picking them apart to find any goodies that can be installed on other Android devices. Each system image is about 1.3GB in file size so make sure that you’re connected to Wi-Fi if you’re downloading these images via your phone’s browser. When you grab each system image, or just one of the images, there will actually be three separate images included which are the images for the system, the images for the boot, and the images for the system_other with the Odex files inside.

Grabbing these won’t allow you to install Android 7.1 Nougat, but they should afford the capability to install updated apps using the APKs that are included, as well as get a little bit of an Android 7.1 Nougat feel thanks to the wallpapers as mentioned above. Although the Pixel and Pixel have not technically been launched yet as they won’t begin shipping to users until later this month, you’ll still be able to use the system images to take a look at the software if you’ve yet to be able to handle one of the Pixel devices in person. The Pixel and Pixel XL are already available for pre-order, of course, and they’re poised to be fairly popular, or at least that seems to be what Google is aiming for with the amount of marketing it looks like Google has prepared for them, as they’re already doing some pretty heavy marketing for the Pixel phones in London.
