Having launched the Nokia 6 smartphone in China earlier this month, Finnish startup HMD Global is believed to be all set to announce its next Nokia-branded device at Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade show in Barcelona next month. If some of the rumors coming out of China are anything to go by, the upcoming device will be marketed as the Nokia 5 and, will apparently be a slightly more affordable version of the Nokia 6. It is worth noting here that an entry-level smartphone named ‘Nokia Heart’ was recently spotted on Geekbench, and some new reports are now claiming that it is this particular device that will eventually be marketed by HMD as the Nokia 5.

Taking a quick look at some of the hardware specifications of the Nokia Heart, the device will feature a 5.2-inch 720p display panel and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC. The chip comes with the Adreno 505 GPU alongside an octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz. The smartphone is also expected to ship with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which are standard hardware specs for many entry-level handsets these days. The Nokia 6, on the other hand, ships with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. On the imaging front, the Nokia Heart is expected to offer a 13-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel secondary camera, both of which will apparently be able to shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. The device is also expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

Nokia is scheduled to hold a press conference at MWC 2017 on February 26, so it will be interesting to see if this particular device is indeed unveiled at that event. However, whether or not this entry-level smartphone is announced next month, a bigger, more powerful Nokia-branded smartphone is believed to be in the pipeline to be launched in the weeks ahead. That particular device has often been rumored as the Nokia P1, and is expected to ship with premium hardware. Reports suggest that the Nokia P1 will be the flagship Nokia smartphone for 2017 and, will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, which will be paired with 6GB of RAM. It is also rumored to carry a 3,500mAh battery with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology. The Nokia 6 has already received a huge response from buyers in China, so it remains to be seen if the forthcoming Nokia handsets will also receive a similar reception in the months to come.
