A new Samsung tablet — possibly the Galaxy Tab S3 — has popped up in a listing on Geekbench which reveals quite a bit about the upcoming device. According to the listing, the tablet will bear the model number SM-T825 and sport high-end hardware. Some reports suggest that this will be Samsung’s next-generation flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S3 9.7. According to Geekbench, the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) SoC and boast 4GB of RAM. The benchmark index also shows a single-core score of 1686 and a multi-core score of 4170, both of which are in the expected range for a device powered by a high-end chip. On the software side of things, the upcoming Samsung tablet is expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, very likely with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz UI on top.

While Samsung’s upcoming tablet has now been listed on Geekbench, it also previously popped up on GFXBench. According to the GFXBench listing, the SM-T825 will have another variant that will carry the model number SM-T820. While the latter will likely be a Wi-Fi-only model, the former is expected to come with cellular connectivity and support 4G LTE networks. The listing also suggests that display panels on both variants will sport a resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels while promising 32GB of built-in storage. As is usually the case, the GFXBench listing also revealed new information about the camera sensors of the Galaxy Tab S3. While the rear-facing primary camera promises to be a 13-megapixel unit, the front-facing shooter will likely incorporate a more humble 5-megapixel sensor.

It is worth noting that while both GFXBench and Geekbench seem to suggest that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S3 will be powered by a Qualcomm chip, a recent rumor originating from China suggested that Samsung will use the Exynos 7420 SoC for its upcoming device. It remains to be seen whether that rumor turns out to be inaccurate or if Samsung is planning to launch different variants of its upcoming flagship tablet with two different chipsets, like it has often done with its premium smartphones in the past. Either way, more information on the Galaxy Tab S3 will likely follow sooner rather than later.
