Images and hands-on videos of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus have leaked out several times in recent weeks, and now, there are even more leaked images that seemingly show the device. This time, both phones seemed to be wrapped in some sort of protective cases. While the leaked images from yesterday showcased the Galaxy S8 in gold, the latest images seem to show off the device in black. As can be seen from the gallery below, the device has been photographed from multiple angles. While one of the images show the device’s rear-facing camera, some of the other images also provide a good look at what seems to be some of the buttons and connectivity ports on the upcoming handset. The volume rocker, the power button, the USB Type-C port, the speaker grill, and the 3.5mm audio port are all visible in these images.
While Samsung is yet to officially announce the hardware specs of the Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy S8 Plus, several leaks have suggested that both devices are likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chips, as well as Exynos 8895 chipsets in certain territories. While the Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch display, the larger Galaxy S8 Plus is believed to ship with a massive 6.2-inch QHD+ panel with curved edges that’s actually a 6.1-inch screen once you account for the rounded edges. The handset is also rumored to have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage with a microSD card slot. The South Korean consumer electronics giant is also said to be getting rid of the physical home button in favor of on-screen buttons on the upcoming device while moving the fingerprint scanner to the back, though the images that you can see below don’t exactly confirm the latter.
The Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus are expected to be unveiled next month. However, neither device will likely hit the market before the second half of April. This will be the first major smartphone launch for Samsung since the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, so the company is certainly hoping that its upcoming Android flagship will help it bounce back and recover from recent troubles.
