Samsung is offering free 256GB EVO+ microSD cards with every Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge or Galaxy S7 Active bought between now and Valentine’s Day (February 14). The offer is currently valid only in the U.S. and is applicable to anybody buying any of the three aforementioned devices from either the company’s own webstore or from third-party retailers around the country. While those buying a qualifying handset directly from Samsung will automatically have the freebie added to their cart, those buying from carriers and other third-party retailers will have to apply to Samsung for the freebie on or before February 21 through a specially-curated webpage (source link down below) specifically setup for the purpose on Samsung’s official website.
The 256GB EVO+ cards are super high-speed Class 10 cards that can reach up to 95MB/s read speeds and 90MB/s write speeds. They are certainly not the cheapest microSD cards going around, and come with an MSRP of $249.99. So it is certainly a lucrative freebie that you can get with a brand new smartphone. Samsung will apparently give out only around 75,000 of these cards free over the next week, which is not really a whole lot. So if you want to be one of them, you’ll need to act soon, because it is a time-limited offer that is set to expire next week.
Samsung has been offering new promotional offers with its Galaxy S7 devices over the past few weeks, quite possibly, looking to clear its warehouses of the older devices before announcing the Galaxy S8, which has already started to create quite a buzz among tech enthusiasts worldwide. In fact, the company recently offered a free Gear Fit 2 with every Galaxy S7 Edge purchase in the U.S. That particular promo offer was later introduced in the U.K. as well, and while the offer has already run its course in the U.S., British residents will have until the 28th of this month to pick up a Galaxy S7 Edge if they want to get their hands on Samsung’s latest fitness band. It will be interesting to see how many people will be tempted by the latest promotional offers from Samsung, given that its much-rumored next-generation flagship is well on the way.
