The recently announced Honor V9 may be coming to Europe next month, according to a press invite that Huawei’s sub-brand recently sent to media outlets. While the invite doesn’t specifically mention any particular device, it does suggest that Honor will be announcing a new device on April 5. Given how the company just debuted the Honor V9 flagship last month, it’s reasonable to presume that the high-end device will soon be making its way to the Old Continent, especially since Honor doesn’t send out invites for its non-premium models as often. Furthermore, recent reports suggest that the Honor V9 may launch in Europe as the Honor 8 Pro. There’s still no word on whether the device will also be making its way to the United States in the near future, but more information on its availability should follow shortly. As for the device itself, the Honor V9 sports a 5.7-inch display panel with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels and is powered by the 64-bit octa-core Kirin 960 system-on-chip (SoC). Honor is retailing two variants of the device in China, one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and another one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. It’s still unclear whether both models will be available in Europe, provided that the handset actually hits the Old Continent. The back side of the device sports two 12-megapixel sensors with an aperture of f/2.2 that are apparently quite capable of taking images and recording videos in poorly lit scenarios. The wide aperture of the lenses also enables the Honor V9 to generate a natural bokeh effect. Another prominent imaging feature of the device is its ability to take 3D photos which can be used as blueprints for 3D prints. All of the aforementioned hardware is powered by a 4,000mAh battery that isn’t removable. The Honor V9 ships with Android 7.0 Nougat and Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.0 running out of the box.
While previous reports indicated that the Honor V9, i.e. Honor 8 Pro will be unveiled at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC), that hasn’t happened, but industry watchers are seemingly still convinced that Huawei’s sub-brand will debut the device in Europe soon. It remains to be seen whether that happens on April 5 or not, but an update on the situation is bound to follow shortly.
