Just days ahead of its expected announcement on March 23rd, multiple images of the OPPO F3 Plus have leaked out yet again, thanks to leaker extraordinaire Slashleaks. In fact, one of the images also seemingly shows off the OPPO F3, which will come with a smaller form factor, and is also expected to be unveiled alongside its bigger sibling later this week. While the Gold and Rose Gold versions of the devices are apparently visible in the images, OPPO is also expected to offer the two handsets in Black. According to reports, the smartphones will be launched simultaneously in at least five different countries on March 23rd, including the Philippines, Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia and India. OPPO currently operates in 28 countries worldwide, and according to IDC, was the fourth-largest smartphone brand globally last year after Samsung, Apple and Huawei.

The OPPO F3 and F3 Plus will be the first set of smartphones from the company to sport a front-facing dual-camera setup for selfies and video chat. As is usually the case with the company’s F-series smartphones, these devices are also being marketed as ‘selfie experts’, so it will certainly be interesting to see how the front-facing dual-camera module will work in real life. One thing that the company has already teased is a wide angle lens on one of the two front cameras to allow users to fit all their friends in one frame. Although the company is still tightlipped about the exact specifications of the front-facing cameras, previous leaks seem to suggest a 16-megapixel + 8-megapixel combo. The rear-facing primary camera, meanwhile, is expected to come with a single 16-megapixel sensor.

Taking a quick look at the hardware specifications of the OPPO F3 Plus, the device is expected to feature a giant 6-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device is said to be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8976 Pro Snapdragon 653 SoC, which comes with an Adreno 510 GPU and an octa-core 1.95GHz CPU. The handset is also rumored to come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded by way of a microSD card of up to 256GB in capacity. Disappointingly, though, the OPPO F3 Plus is only expected to ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, in the form of OPPO’s proprietary ColorOS 3.0.
