The LG G6 is apparently all set to go on sale at Canadian carriers Rogers and Fido from tomorrow, according to an announcement by a Rogers spokesperson. The handset will be available for CAD 199.99 ($150) on select 2-year terms with Rogers and CAD 399.99 ($299) on select 2-year terms with Fido. Customers will also apparently be able to trade in their current devices and get the LG G6 for free, although that particular offer is only applicable on select devices. The LG G6 is officially scheduled to launch in Canada on April 7, but many of the carriers in the country are already planning to sell the device way ahead of its official launch date. Bell happens to be one such carrier that is also said to be securing early inventory to start shipping the device by the end of this month. U.S. carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint have also reportedly started shipping pre-orders to their customers earlier this week.

Whether or not this is a deliberate marketing move by LG ahead of the Galaxy S8 launch remains to be seen, but Canadians wanting to get their hands on a shiny new LG smartphone are surely not complaining. What’s more, Rogers and Fido customers wanting to pre-order LG’s latest flagship smartphone will get an LG Tone Infinim Bluetooth stereo headset worth CAD 129.99 ($97), while Bell, Telus and other Canadian carriers are offering a free LG sound bar and Bluetooth subwoofer valued at CAD 279.99 ($209). It is worth noting here that pre-orders of the LG G6 in the U.S. will be accompanied by a free Google Home smart speaker that normally retails for $129 on the Google Store.

The LG G6 was announced by the South Korean consumer electronics company at the Mobile World Congress trade show earlier this year in Barcelona, Spain. The device features a 5.7-inch ‘Full Vision’ display panel with a 2880 x 1440 pixel resolution. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, which comes with an integrated quad-core CPU with custom Kryo cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.35GHz alongside the Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone sports a dual rear camera module that incorporates twin 13-megapixel sensors, with a 125-degree field of view. The LG G6 runs Android 7.0 Nougat and is the first non-Pixel smartphone to have Google Assistant integration.
