A new mid-range smartphone from LG is now available for purchase at T-Mobile. The device, being marketed as the LG K20 Plus by Magenta, had gone on sale at Verizon earlier this week as the LG K20 V. It is a mid-range smartphone that comes with fairly modest hardware, but does have an affordable price-tag. According to the press release from T-Mobile, users wanting to pick up the device can do so by paying just $31.99 upfront, and a subsequent payment of just $7 per month for a two-year period. In case you don’t have stellar credit, you’ll need to pay $151.99 upfront and then $2 monthly for the next 24 months. The carrier is also selling the handset for a flat $199.99 to those who’d rather buy it outright.
Taking a quick look at some of the key hardware specs of the LG K20 Plus, the device features a metallic frame, and comes with a 5.3-inch 720p display panel with 2.5D Arc Glass on top. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425 SoC that comes with a 64-bit quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU and the Adreno 308 GPU. The device comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded by way of a microSD card of up to 64GB in capacity. The phone carries a 2,700mAh Li-Ion battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. The LG K20 Plus also comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back, just below the rear-facing camera.
Imaging options on the LG K20 Plus include a 13-megapixel primary camera that is accompanied by an LED flash and, is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 FPS. The front-facing shooter on the device, meanwhile, comes with a 5-megapixel sensor that should be good enough for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options include Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n & 4G LTE with VoLTE capability. The device weighs 142 grams, and measures 149mm in length, 75mm in width and 7.9mm in thickness. Overall, the LG K20 Plus looks like a decent enough smartphone for the price it is asking, so it will be interesting to see how well it does in the increasingly-competitive mid-range segment.
