Two of Sprint’s prepaid brands, Boost and Virgin Mobile, have started selling the mid-range LG Stylo 3 smartphone on their respective networks from today. The device costs $179.99 plus taxes on both carriers and comes with a number of flexible data options starting at $50 for unlimited talk, text and LTE data on Boost Mobile, as part of the carrier’s Unlimited Gigs plan. For subscribers on a tight budget, the carrier also offers a cheaper plan that costs as low as $30 per month for 2GB of LTE data alongside the customary unlimited talk and text options. Virgin Mobile customers can look forward to Data Love and Data Love+ plans that start at just $35 per month with unlimited talk and text along with 5GB of LTE data. There’s also a $45 plan on offer that comes with 10GB of LTE data.

Taking a quick look at the LG Stylo 3, the device is a pocket-friendly mid-range phablet that was unveiled earlier this year by the South Korean consumer electronics company at the CES 2017 trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada. It features a 5.7-inch touchscreen display that comes with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The U.S. version of the LG Stylo 3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset, while many of the international variants come with the MediaTek MT6750 SoC under the hood. The Qualcomm chip in the Boost and Virgin models comes with an integrated Adreno 505 GPU along with an octa-core Cortex A-53 CPU clocked at 1.4 GHz. The handset ships with just 2GB of RAM in the U.S. although, LG also offers a 3GB version in some other regions around the world. The device also comes with just 16GB of internal storage, although it can be expanded by up to 256GB by way of a microSD card.

Imaging options on the LG Stylo 3 include a 13-megapixel rear-facing primary camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing secondary camera. The list of sensors on the device includes an accelerometer, a magnetometer (e-compass) and a proximity sensor. The phablet also supports LTE Plus with 2×20 carrier aggregation. The device also comes with a fingerprint scanner and includes an ‘Enhanced Stylus’ that LG claims is more accurate than its predecessor. Much like the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 and the Galaxy Note 5 before it, the LG Stylo 3 also comes with a feature that allows users to write on the screen with the stylus. even with the screen turned off. LG calls it the ‘Screen-Off Memo’. The battery on the LG Stylo 3 is a removable 3,200 mAh unit, while Android 7.0 (Nougat) comes pre-installed.
