Ubisoft’s latest virtual reality (VR) title Star Trek: Bridge Crew was released yesterday – May 30th – and to commemorate the event, HTC prepared a handful of new bundles for the HTC Vive VR headset. Starting yesterday, every HTC Vive purchase includes a free copy of Star Trek: Bridge Crew, and furthermore, prospective HTC Vive buyers who intend on acquiring the HMD (head mounted display) alongside a new video card or a new computer from partner retailers will also receive Ubisoft’s newest VR title for free.

The HTC Vive and Star Trek: Bridge Crew bundle is self-explanatory, but it’s interesting to note that HTC’s press release also briefly mentions a couple of additional titles bundled with the VR headset starting yesterday, namely Everest VR worth $14.99 on Steam, and Richie’s Plank Experience worth $7.99. Furthermore, each HTC Vive purchase will now include one free month of Viveport Subscription. However the main focus is set on Star Trek: Bridge Crew, and to celebrate the game’s launch HTC will also showcase the new VR title at the new all-Vive VR arcade in Seattle between June 1 and June 5, giving visitors an opportunity to team up with friends and take control of the U.S.S. Aegis. As for the second major bundle, every HTC Vive purchase coupled with a graphics card from the MSI Radeon RX 580 family on Amazon, Newegg, Micro Center, and Fry’s Electronics will now be coupled with Star Trek: Bridge Crew. Additionally, the title will also be offered for free to PC enthusiasts building a new Cyberpower PC paired with the HTC Vive headset, as long as their configuration includes an Intel Core i7-6800K, i7-6850K, i7-6900K, or i7-6950X Extreme Edition along with an Intel X99-based motherboard. The configuration should also include an AMD RX 580 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU or above.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew was officially announced for the HTC Vive earlier this year at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The game allows up to four players to join the bridge of the new vessel U.S.S. Aegis and fill the role of a Federation officer in co-op multiplayer. Every action and decision made together by the players will determine the fate of the ship and crew, according to the developer. Star Trek: Bridge Crew was launched yesterday, May 30th, for the price of $49.99 on the Steam Store.
