The OtterBox Symmetry is one of the more lightweight cases from OtterBox, and it’s available for the LG G6 in many different colors. We’ve been using the Symmetry case on the LG G6 for a few days now, and have actually grown fond of the case. We have the clear stardust color here, which looks pretty nice on the LG G6. Because it is clear, you are able to still show off the beautiful design of the LG G6, especially the silver model that LG has put out. It’s also available in clear.
Symmetry is a rather thick case, but this is because the case adds drop protection to your LG G6. Meaning that if you ever drop your LG G6, you won’t need to worry about it breaking as the case will take all of the damage from the fall. The corners are a bit thicker, which allows the case to really be protective from drops. And this is because when phones fall, they typically hit the corner of the phone. It’s a one piece case, which makes it easier to take on and off at will, but it won’t fall off because it does fit the LG G6 nice and snugly. Meanwhile most other cases like this are two layers, with a soft TPU inside and then a hard case on the outside.
Now you do have access to all of the ports and buttons on the Symmetry case here. On the backside, you’ll see a pretty large triangle-shaped cutout, which is used for the dual-camera setup and the fingerprint reader/power button on the back. With this large cut out, it makes it easy to use that fingerprint sensor, and perhaps more importantly, it also means that you don’t have to worry about the case getting in the way of that wide-angle camera, like some other thick cases do. On the bottom, you’ll find cut outs for the USB-C port, the speaker and a microphone. With the top having cut outs for the headphone jack and another microphone. The left side has the volume rocker, which is not cut out, but they are easy to press, which is definitely important for those looking to adjust the volume often, using these buttons.
Obviously, the Symmetry case does add a fair bit of weight and heft to the LG G6, and that’s because it is a pretty large case, compared to a lot of others on the market. The good thing here though is the fact that the Symmetry case does add a fair bit of grip to the LG G6. Since the LG G6 is made of glass, it is already pretty slippery, and adding this grip to the back makes it feel much better in the hand. Since the last thing you want is for this brand new smartphone to slip out of your hand and end up on the floor, even though the Symmetry case is drop-proof.
The OtterBox Symmetry Case is probably one of the best cases available for those that are a bit rough on their smartphones. Especially since it does protect all angles of the LG G6, including the display. Since it’s not a curved display though, you don’t really have to worry about the display getting damaged or covered with this case (which it doesn’t anyways). It is a bit expensive, coming in with a price of $49.95, but with the amount of protection you are getting from the Symmetry case, it’s definitely worth picking up.
