ASUS had introduced the ZenFone 3 handset back in May last year, and screenshots of Android 8.0 Oreo-powered ZenUI have just surfaced. Now, some of you might wonder why did we mention the ZenFone 3 and not the ZenFone 4, well, these screenshots are allegedly showing off Android 8.0 Oreo-powered ZenUI which is running on the ZenFone 3, and not the ZenFone 4, which is interesting, though the ZenFone 4 devices are also expected to get this update, of course.

Now, if you take a look at the provided images, you will notice that there are not that many differences between the Android 7.0 Nougat-powered and Android 8.0 Oreo-powered ZenUI. ASUS is also expected to cut down on bloatware in Android 8.0 Oreo, but it remains to be seen if that will happen or not. In any case, those of you who like stock Android, and who love Android 8.0 Oreo features will be glad to know that Oreo features are there, it doesn’t seem like ASUS is planning to ditch some of the main features for the upcoming update. The source did not reveal when will this update land on the ZenFone 3 or the ZenFone 4, and neither has ASUS, so we can only hope that it will land early next year, as it’s probably not coming in 2017. If you’d like to take a closer look at the UI, check out the gallery down below, though don’t expect to see stock Android look here, this is Zen UI through-and-through.

ASUS had introduced quite a few ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 4 devices to date, and the vast majority of those phones are expected to receive Android 8.0 Oreo, if not all of them. As most of you know, Android 8.0 Oreo comes with some new features, in addition to some optimizations that took place, as per usual. This update brings forth the much-talked-about Picture-in-Picture mode, Notification Dots, some changes to the notification shade, batter battery optimization, new battery saving features, and so on, and as already mentioned, most of the changes that we’ve seen in stock Android 8.0 Oreo will make its way to Android 8.0 Oreo-powered Zen UI skin, or at least it seems that way, but we’ll see.
