Huawei’s Enjoy 7S leaked online yet again earlier today, having been prematurely listed on China Telecom’s pages. While the listing has been removed shortly after going live, the sole phone render attached to it already started circulating the Internet at that point and can be seen above. According to the same source, the Enjoy 7S will feature a 5.65-inch display panel with a resolution of 2,160 by 1,080 pixels using an aspect ratio of 18:9, i.e. 2:1. The Chinese phone maker already started embracing the tall image format earlier this year with the introduction of the Mate 10 flagship series and now appears to be adamant to deliver a mid-range offering with a similar bezel-free aesthetic.
The handset depicted in the prematurely unveiled render appears to have an edge-to-edge screen and minimal top and bottom bezels, in addition to lacking a physical Home button which could double as a fingerprint reader. Instead, a circular scanner is situated on its rear panel, some distance below a dual-camera setup entailing two horizontally arranged lenses accompanied by a dual-LED (dual-tone) flash unit. According to the listing, the main camera will utilize a 13-megapixel sensor and be supported by a secondary 2-megapixel one, whereas the top bezel of the handset will feature an 8-megapixel module. Huawei’s Enjoy 7S was listed as being 150.1 × 72.05 × 7.45mm in size and weighing 143g, thus being relatively compact for a handset offering a lot of screen real estate.
On the inside, the Enjoy 7S is meant to be a truly mid-range Android smartphone, being powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 659 and 3GB of RAM coupled with 32GB of internal flash memory expandable via a microSD card by an unspecified amount. A 3,000mAh battery is also part of the package and isn’t removable but may feature support for some fast charging technology. The Huawei Enjoy 7S runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, likely enhanced with Huawei’s EMUI. The fact that this device was designed for the latest major iteration of Google’s mobile OS also confirms it will support Project Treble and consequently be more likely to receive future software updates in a consistently timely manner. Huawei’s latest mid-ranger will start retailing on December 22nd and be priced at 1,599 yuan, or just north of $240, according to the same source. The handset may eventually make its way outside of China under a different name, as is often the case with Huawei-made smartphones.
