Several renders depicting what’s said to be Motorola’s Moto X5 and Moto G6 lineup appeared online on Tuesday, having been shared by Droid Life who attributes their origin to an unverified source. The images seen in the gallery below indicate the Lenovo-owned company is preparing to embrace 18:9 display panels over the course of this year as all four leaked smartphones feature such elongated screens. The alleged successor to the Moto X4 is equipped with a 5.9-inch FHD+ (2,160 x 1,080) panel and appears to have a notch at the top of its screen, flanked by icons that would usually be part of Android’s uninterrupted status bar. The handset is shown as featuring two dual-camera setups, with the rear one being part of a circular module containing a dual-LED flash unit which slightly protrudes from the back plate of the supposed Moto X5 and has already been seen on many previous devices from the phone maker. A fingerprint reader either isn’t part of the package or is located on the back and features Motorola’s “M” logo embedded into it. While in-display sensors are expected to hit the market later this year, they’re unlikely to be adopted by many mid-rangers, which is presumably what the Moto X5 is meant to be. The render mentions the terms “Moto XP” and “Smart Ai” but doesn’t elaborate on the matter.

The supposed Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, and the Moto G6 Play depicted in the leaked images appear to have a more traditional design which still includes a physical Home button presumably doubling as a fingerprint reader, though all three smartphones also sport smaller bezels compared to their predecessors. The Moto G6 is said to have a 5.7-inch FHD+ display and be powered by the Snapdragon 450. The base model of the device will offer 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash memory, with the more expensive one featuring twice as much storage space and 4GB of RAM, according to the same source. The front-facing camera of the Moto G6 is rumored to be of the 16-megapixel variety, whereas its rear setup supposedly consists of a 12-megapixel module and another 5-megapixel unit. The Moto G6 will be offered in black, silver, and what appears to be rose gold, supposedly starting at approximately $240.

The imaging systems of the Moto G6 Plus are said to be identical to the ones featured by its smaller counterpart, as are their two storage configurations, though the more capable device is also rumored to be offered in a third variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The Moto G6 Plus will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 and boast a 5.93-inch FHD+ screen, the report claims. The handset will reportedly be sold in Dark Lake, Deep Indigo, and Nimbus color options which amount to dark teal, glossy black, and glossy silver colors, respectively. Motorola is said to have decided on a $330 starting point for the Moto G6 Plus.

The Moto G6 Play is understood to share the display with the Moto G6 and will supposedly ship with a 4,000mAh battery, though no other details about the device have been provided by the source. The only render alleged to be depicting the new addition to the company’s irregularly updated Play lineup shows a gray, blue, and gold variant of the handset. Previous Play-branded devices from Motorola were positioned to compete in the lower mid-range segment of the smartphone market so if the firm sticks with that product strategy, the Moto G6 Play will be similar to the Moto G6 in terms of raw processing power and general capabilities. The original equipment manufacturer released a wide variety of devices over the course of 2017 in an attempt to compete in virtually every price range and target highly specific demographics, in addition to delivering a number of offerings meant to be universally appealing. Should Lenovo’s subsidiary continue pursuing that approach, its first batch of devices should be announced in the coming weeks, most likely late next month at this year’s iteration of the Mobile World Congress taking place in Barcelona, Spain. All of the newly leaked devices will probably run a relatively stock version of Android 8.0 Oreo and begin retailing by April, provided they exist.
