HARMAN’s new AudioworX and Moodscape in-car experiences will change the way you drive.
HARMAN had a slew of announcements at CES 2018, from all of its different brands. Though, on the automotive side of things, it had some really interesting announcements, like the AudioworX and Moodscape experiences. AudioworX will give users a new in-car audio experience, as it is an open audio platform, many different music services can jump on board and utilize this new experience from HARMAN. Meanwhile, Moodscape is exactly what it sounds like. It uses QLED Auto, and provides a rather cool looking visual experience in the vehicle. While most cars would have a moonroof or a sunroof in the car which could be opened, with Moodscape, there would be a huge QLED display up there which can display different moods, to help keep you calm and relaxed even in a traffic jam, and provide a really cool experience for your passengers as well.
AudioworX is already available for car OEM’s to start using in its upcoming vehicles, and it has three components, basically, which include the operating system, the library and tuning tools. With these components, manufacturers are able to take full control of the audio experience in the car. Additionally, with AudioworX being a unified platform, HARMAN is able to push out updates to the platform itself, and keep it running in tip-top shape for its users. This announcement by HARMAN at CES 2018 was a pretty big deal, but it did not announce which partners are using AudioworX yet, that should be coming in the next few months.
Moodscape was another feature that HARMAN announced at CES 2018, and it’s really impressive. As mentioned, it is using QLED Auto, which is another of HARMAN’s announcements from CES, which uses Samsung’s QLED displays in the car. Remember that Samsung owns HARMAN, so it’s no surprise that it is using its display panels – and QLED is great for the car as it does get plenty bright, making it good for driving during the day time with the sun shining bright. But with Moodscape, you get a QLED display on the roof of your car which you can set to look like you’re driving through a forest, show a relaxing place, and so much more. It’s pretty customizable, and should be debuting in new cars in the next few months, as HARMAN has said that partners are already using it, but like with AudioworX, HARMAN did not mention who was using it.
These new in-car experiences from HARMAN are pretty impressive, and actually a pretty big deal. This is going to help to expand and improve the in-car experience in the next few months and years, as more and more car makers adopt these new in-car experiences. Which is why we have awarded it the best connected car award in the Best Of CES 2018 awards this year. While it’s not really a connected car experience, it does work with the connected car experience and will make that experience even better.
