Nubia is one of many companies which are currently showing off their products at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The company brought several devices with it to MWC 2018, including the Nubia Z17s, its flagship smartphone. We’ve played around with the Nubia Z17s at the showfloor for a bit, and have also taken some images of the phone for you to check out. The Nubia Z17s, much like a number of other flagships out there, sports really thin bezels. This handset sports a 90.36 percent screen-to-body ratio, which, in addition to its build materials, make it look like a premium phone, which it is.

The Nubia Z17s is made out of metal and glass, its frame is made out of metal, but its whole back and front sides are covered in glass. Every Nubia Z17s colors variant comes with red accents around its rear-facing cameras, and the device’s display sports rounded corners as well. A fingerprint scanner sits on the back of the Nubia Z17s, while the device sports a dual camera setup on the back, and a dual-LED, dual-tone flash which is placed next to those snappers. All the physical keys are included on the right-hand side of the Nubia Z17s, while the company’s logo sits on the back. The Nubia Z17s is not the thinnest smartphone out there, it measures 8.5mm, which doesn’t exactly make it thick, but it’s not in that 7.Xmm range like some other flagships. This handset comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, though you will find Nubia’s custom UI on top of it, the Nubia UI 5.1, which looks somewhat different than stock Android, so if you’re planning to purchase the Nubia Z17s, get yourself ready for a somewhat different experience, even thought’s more similar to stock than some other offerings, like Flyme OS, for example.

This handset sports a 5.73-inch fullHD+ (2040 x 1080) display, and thanks to that display aspect ratio, and thin side bezels, the phone is narrower than you’d think. The Nubia Z17s is only 72.7mm wide, and it’s also not that tall at 147.5mm. The phone weighs 170 grams, while it is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor. A 3,100mAh non-removable battery is included on the inside, and it supports Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging. The Nubia Z17s was originally announced back in October, in China, and the company introduced two variants of this smartphone, they can be purchased in 6GB and 8GB RAM models. The 6GB RAM variant comes in Black Gold color option only, and it sports 64GB of non-expandable internal storage, while the 8GB RAM model features 128GB of non-expandable native storage, and it comes in the Aurora Black color only. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also included on the device, and there are 12 and 23-megapixel snappers placed on the back of this smartphone. Two 5-megapixel cameras can be found on the front side of the Nubia Z17s, and it’s also worth noting that this phone’s availability is still quite limited outside of China, and Nubia did not give any indication that the phone will roll out in markets outside of Asia anytime soon, but who knows.
