The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was announced earlier this month alongside its sibling, the Redmi Note 5. The Redmi Note 5 is the more powerful of the two phones, and unlike the Redmi Note 5, it comes with a dual camera setup on its back. The Redmi Note 5 Pro also offers a more powerful SoC than the Redmi Note 5, more RAM, and so on. Now, Xiaomi brought the Redmi Note 5 Pro to Barcelona, in order to show it off at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, and we managed to use it for a bit. If you’d like to take a closer look at the phone, in some real-life shots, check out the gallery down below.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is made out of metal, much like the vast majority of the company’s smartphones in the last couple of years. This handset comes with considerably thinner bezels than its predecessor, the Redmi Note 4, and it also sports a display which features rounded corners. The Redmi Note 5 Pro does resemble the Redmi 5 Plus, if you look at it from the front, but it’s a completely different deal when it comes to the phone’s back side. A fingerprint scanner lies on the phone’s back, while you will also notice a vertically-aligned dual camera setup. These two cameras are separated by an LED flash, and the phone’s back is curved a bit, on the sides. The Redmi Note 5 Pro’s dual camera setup protrudes on the back, while the company’s logo sits in the lower portion of the Redmi Note 5 Pro’s back side. All the physical keys are included on the right-hand side of this smartphone, while a SIM card tray lies on the left. The Redmi Note 5 Pro utilizes on-screen buttons, and it ships with MIUI 9, Xiaomi’s custom skin, which is, in this case, based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. It is worth saying that the Redmi Note 5 Pro is currently only available in India, while it will launch in China in the near future.

As far as specs go, this is a mid-range handset through-and-through. The device is fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core processor, while the device features 4GB or 6GB of RAM, depending on which variant you opt to get. Both of those models come with 64GB of expandable storage, and you’ll need to insert a microSD card into the second SIM card slot if you’d like to do that, as the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a hybrid dual SIM setup (2x nano SIM). A 4,000mAh non-removable battery is a part of this package as well, and the device supports 5V/2A fast charging. The Redmi Note 5 Pro features a 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, while a 20-megapixel snapper sits on its front side. There are 12 and 5-megapixel cameras included on the back of the Redmi Note 5 Pro, while the device also comes with Bluetooth 5.0. The Redmi Note 5 Pro was originally announced in Black, Champagne Gold, Lake Blue and Rose Gold color variants. As you can see, we were able to get ahold of the Black and Champagne Gold variants, the Lake Blue model was not available at the time.
