Today, a new set of documents relating to Huawei’s upcoming P20 Pro look to have confirmed a number of specs. The Chinese brand is set to release its next flagship lineup at the end of next month, March 27 to be precise, with Huawei only recently confirming the use of the P20 name, instead of the rumored P11 moniker. Now, after various leaks pointed towards the existence of a second model dubbed the P20 Plus, new documents appear to confirm a number of other details surrounding it, as well as its new name, the P20 Pro.

The Huawei P20 Pro is expected to launch alongside the regular Huawei P20 and the mid-range P20 Lite, acting as the higher-end device of the three. According to the documents, the Pro variant will house a large 6-inch display – expected to adopt an iPhone-like borderless look – that features a 2180 x 1080 pixels. Furthermore, in terms of internals, the homegrown HiSilicon Kirin 970 is set to power the device, just like the regular P20, and it will be coupled with a dedicated neural processing unit, as previously seen in Huawei’s Mate 10 lineup. Partnered with the chipset will be the choice of either 6 or 8GB of RAM, which will also offer 128 or 256GB of storage respectively. Furthermore, in the camera department, the P20 Pro should feature an exclusive triple-camera setup, which will once again be comprised of a main 12-megapixel color sensor and Huawei’s typical secondary monochrome sensor, although in this case the megapixel count has been upped to 16. In terms of the third lens, this sensor is also set to feature a 16-megapixel resolution with f/1.8 aperture, but it will be a telephoto lens capable of offering 5x optical zoom. The selfie sensor, on the other hand, will feature an 8-megapixel resolution. Once again, following the path of previous Huawei flagships, the camera setup is expected to have been developed in co-operation with German optics company Leica.

Aside from the camera setup, Huawei’s P20 Pro is expected to feature a large 4,000mAh battery in order to keep the lights on, while in terms of software, EMUI 8.0 is set to come pre-installed alongside Android 8.0 Oreo. Lastly, in terms of pricing and release, the Huawei P20 Pro will likely go on sale beginning April alongside the P20 and P20 Lite, with the 8GB of RAM and 256GB variant expected to cost the equivalent of $930. Regarding the 6GB alternative, pricing info is yet to leak.
